Lesson 5

「生まれて初めて」「人生で初めて」という言い方が
オバマさんのスピーチに出てきた。同じような構文で
「久しぶり」「3年ぶり」「5年ぶり」等と言える。

It’s the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours,
many for the first time in their lives,
because they believed that this time must be different;
that their voices could be that difference.
（その答えは、学校や教会の周りにできた、この国が見たこともないほどの大行列、
多くは人生で初めて投票のためにその行列に並んで３時間も４時間も待った人たちが
語っています。彼らがそうしたのは、今回は今までと違う、 自分たちの声が変化をもたらすことができると信じたからです。）
